FAQ
Do you only help nonprofits?
No, we help all business types. Our focus is on social entrepreneurs and nonprofits because there are a limited number of attorneys assisting in these areas who understand their unique challenges.
Are your services limited to California?
Many of our services are limited to California businesses as we do not have any attorneys licensed in other states. Our subscription plan is suitable only for California businesses. However, we do offer trademark registration and applications for 501(c)(3) status nationwide, dependent on the needs of the organization.
Why should I hire you instead of an inexpensive filing or forms service?
The cheap filing and forms services make it easy to start an organization, but they cannot provide legal advice, including assistance in determining whether you’re choosing the appropriate business type, tailoring your formation documents to the unique needs of your organization, and advising you how on how to follow the many rules and regulations.
Often, we find that organizations end up spending more money trying to fix the problems created by these services.
What is a remote-first or virtual law firm?
We do not have a physical office and help our clients via email, phone, videoconference, secure web portals, and other online communication options. This allows us to keep our costs down, and we find that our clients would rather not spend time in a stuffy law office.
Can we meet in person?
Because we are a remote-first law firm, if you’d like to work with an attorney in person, we likely are not the best fit for you. However, if you are in the Morongo Basin and would like to meet with Christine for a coffee, we can make that happen.
Do you offer payment plans?
At this time, we do not offer payment plans, largely because the management of client’s money is highly regulated in California. However, we do accept all major credit cards.
